What is Softwave Tissue Regeneration Therapy in Rogers?

Softwave Therapy uses the FDA-cleared OrthoGold100 SoftWave™ device that has been in successful use as a regenerative, non-invasive therapy in Europe for more than a decade. Softwave Therapy stimulates new stem cells, increases circulation, breaks up scar tissue and painful calcifications while reducing inflammation. This treatment accelerates the healing process in the body by stimulating the metabolism and enhancing blood circulation and cellular repair to regenerate damaged tissue. Softwave Therapy is used at leading national and international research and medical centers such as the Cleveland Clinic, Shepherd's Center, the Mayo Clinic, and Memorial Sloan Kettering. It is also utilized by professional sports organizations.

What Types of Conditions Can be Helped?

  • Neuropathy
  • Chronic and acute pain
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Tennis elbow
  • Post-surgical healing
  • Shoulder injuries
  • Hip, knee, and other injuries
  • Acute 2nd-degree burn and wound healing

  • Injuries to the spine
  • Tendonitis
  • and many others

How are Treatments Performed?

Acoustic Wave or True Shock Wave Treatment (ESWT) is noninvasive and nontraumatic to the cells. The gel is applied to the treatment area and acoustic waves are then released through the Orthogold probe over the damaged tissue or area. The probe generates waves that affect cells within a two-inch diameter. Though all of the cells in this target area are exposed, only pathologic tissue reacts.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

The number of treatments needed depends on the condition that is being treated. In many cases, only 4-6 treatments may be needed. Each treatment session takes between 10-15 minutes. Periodic treatment (such as 2-4 times per year) may be needed and supportive depending on the injury.

What Types of Results Are Expected?

Beneficial effects are often experienced after only one or two treatments. Many patients report immediate pain relief, restored mobility, and improved quality of life. Gradual healing will continue several months after the shockwave treatment as your body continues to produce and recruit stem cells to the damaged area. Additionally, about four to eight weeks after a patient's first SoftWave treatment, we see up to a 400% increase in blood vessels (small, medium, and large). Research has shown a corresponding increase in permanent blood supply, which helps fight infections.

Additional Notes

The SoftWave Tissue Regeneration Therapy is a true and unique unfocused shockwave therapy. It's important to understand where SoftWave fits into the big picture of the very broad term and market of "shock wave therapy."

There are 2 main categories of shock wave therapy:

  1. Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT), and
  2. Radial Pulse Therapy (radial/ballistic devices go by many names rSWT, rESWT, RPT, EPAT, and many others). They do not produce a true "shock wave" as defined by physics (they produce a sound wave). These devices work on a different principle and are comparatively limited as to what they can treat. Radial Pulse devices have been incorrectly referred to as "shock wave" for so long that it has stuck, though it is technically not correct.

Softwave TRT owns the patents to unfocused ESWT (as well as several key processes) in North America and utilizes the electrohydraulic method to generate the waves. SoftWave (called Spark Wave & Ortho Wave in EU) is non-traumatic to tissue or cells, the treatment zone is thousands of times larger than focused or planar, it has far more published science than any other ESWT device, it is scientifically validated to elicit a strong anti-inflammatory effect and to recruit/activate endogenous stem cells, to vascularize tissue, to promote healing, and to kill pathogens.
